Destination Wedding Locations - Riu Palace Riviera Maya - Utterly Sublime
We needed it! Just trust me. Don't ask why. My husband and I needed a vacation. Mexico, stressed to the max and hunting for the right all-inclusive resort had us ready to just stay home with the dogs until I came across the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen.
It would be great to stay on budget and not worry about extra charges for drinks or dodging the ship's photographers or dreading that annoying but necessary muster drill. An all-inclusive perhaps? This time we wanted to try something different, but. We have cruised, in the past.
I was getting close to tossing it off the metaphorical pier. Is this all-inclusive idea destined to sleep with the fishes? " That doesn't sound good. "The drinks are watered down to nothing. Don't think I want to go there! " Really? And the staff didn't help her, "A woman slipped on the marble floor. " Not that place. "Great beach but the room was infested with bugs. Good grief! I waded through one Trip Advisor review after another. The world of all-inclusive can be daunting.
Maybe it's because even a soda can cost you on certain cruise ships. Why am I obsessing over the drinks? Any type of drink you desire will be served at the amazing pool. Yes. A lovely beach? But it was nice to know a cocktail in the room could be done anytime, we're not big drinkers. Three liquor dispensers in the room? The fog in my brain began to lift, when I came across the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen. I'm glad I'm the determined type because we REALLY needed the perfect vacation.
We just did it. No fuss. We booked and flew to Cancun.
We had no worries, from that moment on. Our transportation to the Riu Palace Playa Riviera Maya was waiting for us, as soon as we collected the luggage.
I knew we were off to the right start, and stunning chandelier, marble floor, when I stepped into the Riu Palace Riviera Maya's lobby and saw the plush furniture. And gorgeous decor, lovely architecture, you love looking at beautiful gardens, if you're like me.
They can rise to sublime. Yeah, oh! Can things get better?
Ahem. There were those three liquor dispensers, and. This suite was huge, but. Cruise ships have nice suites - no question. How nice to have room! Our suite with balcony was nothing less than fabulous.
My body knew this week was about rest and rejuvenation. But who cares, that probably wasn't a pretty sight? I had nodded off, in short order. . . And a fruit drink in my hand, a good book, the sounds of the surf. Glorious! But I have to protect my skin, lots of people were sunning. We had no trouble finding just the right loungers in the shade. We wasted no time getting down to the pool with the gorgeous beach just a few feet away from our lounge chairs.
Just too much fun! Feel like swimming up to the bar. Sauna, gym, how about a spa? American cuisine anyone, brazilian, mexican? They had it. Yep. My husband is a huge fan of Japanese food. Every day of our vacation was perfect.
" "Book it, i say, if you get a chance to visit the Riu Palace Riviera Maya! Where else could I have champagne on demand? Our first all-inclusive resort experience was heaven.
